Sivia Castro
Registered Mental Health Counselor (MHC)
MHC
My name is Sivia Castro and I am a registered mental health counseling intern. I provide services in English & Spanish. My primary objective as a counselor is to establish a supportive and non-judgmental space where my clients can feel safe to be themselves. I aim to create a space where my clients feel like they can openly share and explore their concerns.
My approach to counseling is rooted in the belief that each person is uniquely different. So I strive to provide a personalized approach based on my client’s needs. Some of the treatment modalities I use to achieve this include cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT), dialectical behavioral therapy (DBT), somatic therapy, family systems theory, attachment theory, and internal family systems. I also like to incorporate inner child work and expressive arts into my sessions with clients when appropriate.
I currently hold a B.A. in Psychology and a master’s degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling from Florida Gulf Coast University. I am also trained in the Gottman method couples therapy (level I and level II). I am currently working towards becoming fully licensed as a clinical mental health counseling in the state of Florida.
Sivia is accepting both English and Spanish speaking clients. She can see clients that have Medicaid, BCBS, Cigna, Aetna and Private Pay.
