Katrina Volante
Registered Mental Health Counselor Intern (MHC)
Here is a little about our Clinician. Katrina is a graduate of Palo Alto University where she earned a Master’s of Arts in Clinical Mental Health Counseling.
She completed her student internship with Community Center Shanghai, based in Shanghai, China, where she had the opportunity to work with individuals and groups from six continents.
Her practice specialized in treating depression, anxiety, OCD and harm-related OCD, LGBTQIA+ issues, disordered eating and body image concerns, crises in faith, and life transition issues.
She also worked with Moving Forward Family Services, a nonprofit based in Canada, to provide telehealth services to the underserved communities of Vancouver.
In addition to cognitive behavioral theory (CBT) and affirmative counseling, Katrina practices from a constructivist perspective, a counseling theory that posits that individuals create their own reality and have the power to restore their lives. Therapeutic writing and movement as well as meditation and breathwork are often used during session to deepen insight.
Outside of clinic, Katrina is an active researcher and writer. Her populations of interest include the religiously disaffiliated and the LGBTQIA+ community.
Katrina is currently providing in-person and telehealth services to adolescents (17+) and adults.
